One more bomb blast and 30 more innocent lives are lost. But who cares? CC TVs are not working since last three years. This is a good excuse. But well in India there is nothing called ‘accountability’. I can’t blame the police. Because the officers in police force are part of a broad society. When the society does not value ‘accountability’ how can we expect from a sub-group? So the whole society is to be blamed. A country is what its society is. People will die. But life goes on. That is India. Indians call it resilience and I call it indifference.

Indians say they are spiritually rich. But where is that spirituality? By praying you can never attain what Gita has preached. You got to practise the same. What is the point of spending two hours in front of God, yet pocketing bribe in office. Even though I’m an Indian, I can attest to the fact that many people are double standard.

Well, let me come back to bomb blast. When I was a kid, I’d seen a movie where the militant leader was mocking at Indian State. And at long last the movie came true. Such a shame that militants are killing innocent citizens everywhere. And before/after every blast they are sending e-mails mocking at everybody. The most shameful thing is that our Prime Minister, other senior ministers don’t feel guilty. Still these people in power don’t learn a lesson. It is a hopeless situation.

How can we solve this problem? Can we leave India to bleed to its death? I’m not an escapist. Otherwise I would have changed the passport long time back. I think the answer can be found in Singapore. We need a factor that can unify India. We don’t have an unifying factor. We don’t have common language, history, heritage etc. So what can be a factor that can attract everybody? Looking at the world, I think the answer is wealth. If we rapidly industrialise India, people will chase their material dream. Then only I think people will be united. As social disturbances will be an impediment for business and prosperity, people will come out and demand peace. Even with all kind of social trouble we should keep moving towards rapid liberalization and industrialisation. If not immediately, we will reach our goal after few decades. I stated Singapore as in example because that place shows how people can unite for a common goal i.e. wealth.

I hope the land of spiritualism and philosophy can gain back its right position in the world soon. Wealth is not an answer but it can be a means.
